Order status: how to create the best options for your business

4Psite is here to help you centralize your operations. This much you already know. But besides that, our system also respects each one of the particularities that you might have in your daily processes. Did you know that you can have customized order statuses?

When you sign with 4P, we deliver your account with all your stores hooked up, your suppliers, carriers and all the basic technical setups to get you started. Surely, if you are already a client of ours, you had the orientation session with all of these details. One of the highlights of our platform is the possibility to create your own status for your orders, just so you can better control your operations and have your own terminology into the system.

Note that we have default order statuses that cannot be deleted. You can rename them, but the action of these particular statuses will remain the same. But when it comes to your creations, you can play around as you wish.

Perhaps you want to have a status named "partially shipped". You can add it to the system and it will appear as an option for every order so you can set their status to "partially shipped" whenever needed. Or maybe you manufacture your products and you wish to have a status named "in development". You can create it and mark the orders accordingly.

FAQ and the terms in 4Psite

4Psite has a wide variety of modules and we use our own terminology for certain subjects and topics. In this blog post, we will quickly explain some of the most used names in our system. We picked the most requested names/terms in our system to give you a brief explanation. Divided into three topics, here they are!

1 - What is an order management system?

4Psite is a tool to help you fulfill your orders, manage your inventory and purchasing, run your drop shipping operation and much, much more. The perks of having a system like ours in your workflow is that you can optimize your time by having all your stores connected in one place. Once you connect all your stores to 4P - which is a task done by our team - all orders will flow in the order screen, and it does not matter which store they are from. Also, we indicate with an abbreviation which store each order belongs to.

2 - Supplier vs Drop Shipper:

Well, you can have both in 4P! Supplier is the/company that provides you the goods to sell from your warehouse . We have a full purchasing management module inside 4P. It is possible to create purchase orders in our system and also keep track of the expected quantities of your skus.

DropShipper is the company/warehouse that stores your products and ships them for you. As an option, 4Psite can grant a special login for your dropshippers so they can ship from 4P and see only the orders assigned to them.

3 - Catalog vs Inventory:

The catalog is pulled from your store and you will see the product images - if they exist on your store’s end. This is valid for all stores/shopping carts such as Shopify, BigCommerce, Yahoo, Magento, WooComerce, Miva, Wix, etc. 4P's catalog stores your master products - or as we call them: parent items. All unique items are in the catalog tab. We also give you the opportunity to filter the catalog by store when viewing it - multiple stores, multiple catalogs! Also, on the order screen it is also possible to filter by channel - you will see only the purchases that came from the specific store or channel such as Amazon, Walmart, eBay etc. that you are looking for.

4Psite is always improving the communication between customers and our support team. Among other things, the FAQ is such an important tool for new clients that are not that familiar with our terminology and even for long-time clients that might need this type of information.

KnowledgeBase: How to learn better and faster?

4Psite is a robust system with lots of features. We see our platform as a wide and comprehensive solution that provides multiple ways to operate. We want you to be prepared to use it at its full potential and in the best possible way to meet your business needs. The 4P KnowledgeBase is one of our latest additions to your learning process.

Our account managers are always ready to give you unlimited training, one hour per session. We consider live training sessions to be effective if done properly in the limit of one hour and by giving you at least one day to test things on your own. As a side tool, often the account managers will also send you user guides and documentation after meetings. Now, the fundamental ones exist on the KnowledgeBase.

Logged into 4P, you will notice a few links at the bottom of your account. Knowledge base is in bold text, right before our terms and conditions link. If you click on the knowledge base, you can view documents about basic topics, like inventory, shipping etc.

Remember that these manuals contain Confidential and Proprietary Information that is available for 4P's customers only, and is not meant to be shared for any other purpose. 4P's team is updating the content continuously to assist our customers along the way.
