Scanning features: 3 useful options where you can use scan guns on 4Psite

Our latest webinar session was about key features and automation of processes that you can achieve by using 4P in your daily business operations. In this blog post, we will emphasize on one topic that we approached in this past presentation: connectivity with scan guns. To share this information with you, we decided to present 3 modules as a few examples where scanning is possible in 4Psite.

1 - Looking for a sku

On our Logistics tab, you can see all the variations of your products listed on the Inventory Status. There is a field meant to search by SKU, SKU prefix or UPC. Try to scan one of your skus and see the magic happen!

2 - Shipping

When you open Rule Based Shipping, you will see a box with a text “Scan Items”. You can use this to make sure the picked items are correct. Scan the products and click on “Verify”. The system will give you a message - if it is all “ok” or if you need to correct any of the items before creating the label.

3 - Purchasing

If you are familiar with our purchasing management module, you will notice that we have the ability to scan the received items, for every PO. Make sure you verify your received items by scanning the SKUs. Separate them by a comma or one per line and you will have accurate information in your records.

An important note: your scanning tool should emulate a keyboard. So it shows letters and numbers, as if you were typing them. There is no brand suggested nor another requirement needed to use our scannable fields.

It’s that time of the year!

What a challenging year! The world faced so many difficulties along the way and certainly, we can’t forget the lessons we learned in a tough and unusual year like 2020. And we couldn’t let it end without writing a letter to you.
